The YCMEA Desert Band Festival is a collaborative festival in which beginning and intermediate bands from all over Yuma County rehearse together and put on a concert.

Each group will receive music to rehearse prior to the event. After turning in your beginning and intermediate instrumentation you will be given a rehearsal schedule for both days.

The schedule will look like this example:


Thursday, May 15
Your beginning band
Rehearsal from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Concert run-through from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
High school jazz performance from 5-5:30pm
Dinner from 5:45-6:45pm
Concert at 7pm

Yes! This is an all day event. Your beginning band will perform on one day and your intermediate band on the other.

Fees: $2.00 per student
$10.00 for any non-YCMEA member

Please label all equipment you bring (especially percussion) before May 15 and May 16.

Each director is responsible for transportation arrangements to the rehearsal site.

Students/parents are responsible for transportation home after the concert.

Please inform your parents and administrators that this is an all day event!!
